Position Summary: 

The Marketing Coordinator is an integral role within Sextant Marketing, providing customer-focused marketing solutions while supporting the team in tactical execution of marketing activities. This is a unique opportunity to both learn and add value in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company, where there is plenty of opportunity and room for growthThis is a position where hands-on digital marketing operations allow for project delivery to the higher education & corporate-focused clients within Sextant Marketing’s portfolio. This role will work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, the marketing services teamand all members of the Client Services team. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the full cycle of client marketing campaigns. Thus, the candidate will be exposed to all aspects of the digital marketing funnel and aid in or the completion of timely projects for key clients. Examples of these responsibilities would include: 

  • Learn to implement and measure digital marketing campaigns, as well as assisting in a wide variety of marketing-related tasks from creative, to execution and reporting.  
  • Helps to ensure marketing services team members have clear direction and deadlines in order to complete marketing project deliverables. 
  • Support the marketing services team with web content writing and publishing, collateral creation, and vendor management. 
  • Learn to plan and deploy marketing automation campaigns. 
  • Helps execute the social media strategy for the company and our respective clients as applicable. 
  • Learns to measure and help report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs). 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize the user experience. 
  • Learns to publish blog articles, add new content and provide maintenance to client websites. 
  • Assist in reviewing new technologies to keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing. 
  • Candidate must show a desire to learn, take on multiple tasksand grow within the role that allows for learning and experience in a range of marketing disciplines. 
  • Other activities as described by the management. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required 

  • Have a strong desire to master the marketing tools and strategies needed to take integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. This position will work with the marketing services team, account management, supporting teams (such as programmers), and vendors to assist in the launching of campaigns – on time and on budget. 
  • Basic knowledge and exposure in any of the following disciplines is needed: email marketing (large scale) and Internet marketing, social media marketing, web development, creative design, vendor management, and campaign analysis. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate virtually and collaborate with all team members.  
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting and other web conferencing software.   
  • Positive attitude with an optimistic and energetic disposition. 
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within deadlines and learn advanced strategies.  
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn with a desire to excel with a growing company. 

Education & Experience Requirements 

  • High School diploma required. 
  • Candidates working towards completing a bachelor’s degree, or recent graduates preferred
  • Basic understanding of internet marketing principles & Search Engine Optimization.
  • Basic social media experience, personal or professional, focused on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchatand Pinterest – additional platforms a plus. 
  • Experience with graphic design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or HTML experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with Social Media Management software, such as Hootsuite, Buffer or Hubspot is a plus 
  • Experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress, DrupalHubspot, Sitecore, Umbracoand similar is a plus.

This role is a paid contracted position (1099) for a term of 90 days. Thus, the role will be temporary to permanent opportunity, based on overall performance and client portfolio. It is anticipated that the coordinator will be granted 40 hours per week. Business hours are 9am-5pm ET Monday – Friday, however, some flexibility in business hours is possible and can be arranged with manager.
